Hitting the back of a bullet with a hammer and screwdriver?

no it's not safe, the chamber of a rifle is meant to contain and focus the power of the powder towards the bullet and out the barrel, if there isn't this compression, it'll bulge the case out and possibly blow up in your face, I'm not saying it'll happen every time, but I personally wouldn't risk it.
