How can Lil' Wayne sound so bad live? He's good on track, but live is gruesome.?

It's the same with most artists nowadays if you ask me, most of my friends listen to artists that are current, i like some current stuff like the killers ans the chilli peppers but im more into older stuff, it's alot more "pure" and true.
