Don't be so hung up on what others think of you. I would imagine that even if they seem to look down on you they are probably feeling rather inadequate with their own abilities. Money can't buy the skill and feeling that is necessary to train a horse. It sounds like this may be your niche in life. If you should decide to pursue this avenue just be careful. Too often someone will try to push a nutcase horse off onto an inexperienced trainer. There are some excellent voc. tech. schools all over the country now that offer advanced education in the care and training of horses. If the girls around you get snotty just put your chin in the air and smile nicely back at them, Kill them with kindness and never let them know what you really think. Maybe someday some of them will confide in you and let you know their own feelings of fear and inadequacy. You sound like a strong person, enjoy your life, it's a short trip and every moment is special.
