Do you like my english intro on the gothic? I'm a uni student BTW?

Gothic literature, also known as Romanticism, was the predominant genre during 18th and 19th centuries. It was often defined in the extreme as it explored subjects that other genres feared to touch. Though Gothic literature at the time was very popular, the genre offended many critics as it dealt with immorality and indulgence in excess. William Wordsworth described it as: "deluges of idle and extravagant stories in verse." His criticism was ironic, since his friend Samuel Taylor Coleridge was among the notable gothic writers.
