What kinds of plants or fruits could carry the fungus that causes fungal meningitis?

I am so so sorry. These fungi commonly live everywhere, even on our skin, and they wait for a break in our immune system to take advantage, thus they tested for HIV. Please know that in her youth here she has great potential for recovery. Patricia Neal, the late actress (she lived to a ripe old age after her stroke) ,had a devastating stroke and made a huge comeback..and your daughter will too. Try and rent "The Patricia Neal Story" and see what her husband Roald Dahl (the childrens author)did to help the process. In addition to her strong constitution (she too had little children to live for), her family put her on a busy schedule of stimulation. So when someone says "how can I help", accept it. Have them read to her, talk to her. Play music and movies all the time. Get her out if bed as much as you can, even if she resists, Like Ms. Neal did, a lot, at first. Make her talk (if she has been left with speech impediment) no matter how much she cries...and she will...emotional lability is a big part of post-brain injury. Please join a local support group...you can find those who want to listen to all your feelings, and have great suggestions. never give up. Try and understand that even if she was diagnosed earlier the fungus may still have done it's dirty work..it is very hard to treat. We will never know why some have to have such awful things happen...but don't let despair and hope be the things that are affected , too. Take that anger and use it, for her, and for that little boy. All my love.
