Whats wrong with the underside of my tongue?

ok, for about 2 weeks ive had this bump under my tongue, not on it, but under it, thinking it was a zit or somethin i tried to pop it, while trying i felt nothing and all i did was make it red, yes, i do smoke but ive only been doing so for a few months having maby a cig or 2 every few days, idk what it is and its sorta freaking me out, is it oral cancer? blocked saliva gland? is it temporary? does it need to be surgically removed? plz help
